Local Street's Unnecessary Make-over

Published on

1st of October, it’s eleven O’clock in the village of Wrenthorpe. Spray paint scattered across the ground weaving into unbelievably offensive words and explicit drawings. First being discovered by a young family and their children after taking their dog for a walk the next morning. A beloved Wrenthorpe street was defaced by a group of unidentified teenagers leaving the community in shock, this being confirmed after several people spotting the teenagers.

‘This is not the best first impression of the community’s youths,’ expressed a father worryingly, who later explained that they had only just moved to the street a week prior. The local community was quick to react and with the help of their teamwork, the harmful words were partially erased from the ground. The local council workers later removed the rest of the spray paint letting the remains stream down the road into the drains.

One resident from the street said, ‘I’ve lived here for more than 15 years and have never seen anything like it.’ Many more words were spoken about the youths of the community and how their behaviour has seemingly become more destructive. The street is known to have younger children living and visiting the area only putting more worry into the parents. Many have pleaded with the community’s youths to think about the impact they’re having on the community with their actions. However, many are scared that their voices will go unheard no matter how much they talk.
